Keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts for the Nib desktop app and the Nib terminal UI.

Desktop app

On macOS these live in the menu bar. Windows and Linux have no menu bar, so the app binds the same shortcuts with Ctrl in place of ⌘, except Open folder: Ctrl+O is Transcript detail on every platform.

Window

ActionShortcut
Show or hide Nib from anywhere⌘⇧Space on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+Space elsewhere

The show-or-hide shortcut is global: it works while another app is focused. To change it or turn it off, open Settings → This computer → Bring Nib forward.

On macOS the standard window commands are handled natively:

ActionmacOS
Close window⌘W
Minimize⌘M
Full screen⌃⌘F
Actual size⌘0
Zoom in⌘=
Zoom out⌘−
Hide Nib⌘H
Quit⌘Q

Undo, redo, cut, copy, paste and select all use the usual platform shortcuts everywhere.

On macOS, closing the window hides Nib and the Dock icon brings it back. ⌘Q quits, which also stops the daemon. On Windows and Linux, closing the window quits.

Tray

The tray icon menu offers Show, New Session and Quit.

Ctrl+R, Ctrl+G, Ctrl+S, Ctrl+B, Ctrl+V (Alt+V on Windows), Ctrl+O, Ctrl+T, Ctrl+Y, Shift+Tab and Ctrl+L can be bound to other keys in ~/.nib/keybindings.json: each action's name, then a key or a list of keys, or null to unbind it. /keybindings lists the actions and the keys they have now.
